Hello Room 10 and 11 parents,

Tomorrow Wednesday November 14 is our celebration of learning from 6:30-8:00. The celebration of learning gives you and your family a great opportunity to see some of the robotics work we have been learning from the STEM learning lab residency. There will be robots in all of the classrooms as well as the music room and the learning commons. The gym will also have stations set up giving you a chance to do some physical literacy. Both room's 10 and 11 will have stations showcasing some of the things we have been learning in science, math and social. The scholastic book fair will also be open tomorrow night as well.

Both rooms 11 and 10 went to the book fair today and will be going back tomorrow.

Kind Regards,

Robotics Residency

Hello Parents

Today room 10 started their robotics residency. Room 11 will be starting theirs next week. The STEM learning lab will be in our school teaching us all sorts of exciting things about coding and STEM. Room 10 will be working with the Dot and Dash robots. Today we learned about how to code the robots and participated in fun activities with the Dash and Dots such as making the dash drive in a square and helping it cross the street. There is a school wide celebration of learning on November 14 from 6:30- 7:30 this will give you an opportunity to see the work your child has been doing with robotics.

Bellow are some pictures of all of the fun we had today.

Have a great night

Sullivan the Pumpkin

Hello Room 10 parents

Our class wanted to introduce you to Sullivan the pumpkin. This week we wrote a story about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We learnt about how the pumpkin comes to our school as well as how a pumpkin breaks down in the compost as part of the Waste in Our World unit in Science. The students will be bringing their Sullivan the pumpkin writing home to show you during the week next week.

We also got the amazing opportunity of bringing Sullivan to life. Here is a picture of how we decorated him. One of the students came up with idea of Sullivan the business pumpkin. You will also be able to meet Sullivan the pumpkin in real life at the dance tonight at 6:30. Sullivan hopes to
 see you there.

Word Work in Room's 10 and 11

Hello Room 10 and 11 Parents

We hope you are all having a great day. We have so enjoyed getting to know and learn with your student.

We wanted to let you know that word work will be coming home every Tuesday and Thursday with your child. They will come home with a bag of their words they have gotten on Monday. If you could please quiz them on all of the words in their bags that would be greatly appreciated. With word work we are focusing on the pattern in the words to help them spell out and identify more difficult words. Feel free to ask your child to teach you about the pattern they are learning. The extra work at home really helps them prepare for the word work check in on Friday's.

Room 11 dose not have word work list this week but will get a new list on Monday.

We appreciate all of your support and the extra work at home to help your child thrive and grow.

Kind regards

Ms. Youngblood and Mrs. Hogue
