Room 10 and 11 have some brand new museum curators! We will be researching about an immigrant group that came to Alberta in the late 1800s and choosing an artifact from that group to display. We listened to a real museum curator who's worked in museums all over Canada and she gave us some tips on what to do:
1. Do as much research as you can on the immigrant group.
2. Do as much research as you can on the artifact.
3. Think about what the artifact tells us about the group. (This is why you needed to do step 1. first.)
4. Choose an artifact that looks interesting or has a cool story.
Here's what we'll be working on this week.
Curators are expected to complete this project by Monday, December 17 so feel free to help your child with the research process as needed.
